returns TRUE if touple already belongs to a sciencebase item, FALSE if not

Usage

item_exists(scheme, type, key, ...)

Arguments

scheme: the identifier scheme
type: the identifier type
key: the identifier key
...: Additional parameters are passed on to GET

Value

boolean for whether item exists
